How To Create A Campaign

Personal Campaigns:

-  If it is your first time to create a campaign on this website, go to the Homepage and on the top right where you have Register click on it. (If you have registered before just Login using your email and password and click on Create a Campaign and follow as prompted).

-  After registering and submitting it, an email will be sent to you where for security purposes you will have to activate your account from your email.

-  After activating the account a new page will open for you to Login with your email and password and then click Login.

-  It takes you to the next page where you can Enter Your Goals and the default is Personal. Keep it as such since it is a personal campaign. For Select Category choose one from the Drop Down. After that, enter the title for the campaign and make it short and click on Next.

-  It takes you to the next page where you must select a type of currency. Also enter the amount of money that you want to raise for this campaign. Make sure NOT to include the currency symbol like ($, €, £ etc) No commas between the figures. Example:  2500 Enter your Zip Code / Postal Code and click on Next.

- It takes you to the next page where you MUST upload a picture. You can also upload a video which is optional and then click on Next.

-  It takes you to the next page where you will have to type your Campaign Description telling the potential donors why they should donate to you. The information has to be captivating and convincing to encourage people to donate. (We advise that you type it in word and then copy and paste). Also you have the opportunity to copy and post a YouTube link so that people can watch your video. After that click Submit.

-  It takes you to another page where you MUST connect a Stripe Account to be able to receive donations. (Stripe is an online payment gateway just like PayPal). Click on “Connect With Stripe”

-  It takes you to another page where you have a Stripe Account form. (If you already have a Stripe Account click on “Sign In” at the top right of the page. Login with your Stripe email and password and Submit and the account will connect with MyHopelandFund and you can start receiving donations after sharing your campaign).

-  If you do not have a Stripe Account you MUST complete the form and submit to create and connect your Stripe Account with MyHopelandFund before you can start receiving donations. Remember to store the email and password that you will use for Stripe because we do not control that.

-   N.B: You will have to provide your Bank information when creating the Stripe Account. The purpose of this is so that donations paid into your Stripe Account will be transferred automatically into your Bank account. We do not control Stripe. Stripe is a Payment gateway just like PayPal.

-    After you have successfully submitted the Stripe information, your campaign is complete and you can start sharing it. The campaign will be visible on the Homepage. You are strongly advised to SHARE the campaign as much as possible on the Social Media provided on the website and through the email too. All things being equal, more publicity means more donations.


Charity Campaigns: Charities with 501 (c) Status:

-    Go to the Homepage, below where you have Join As Charity and click on SIGNUP. Complete the information requested on that page. An email will be sent to you to activate your account and complete more information.

-    You will be asked to Connect Your Stripe account. If you already have a Stripe account Login by clicking on Sign In on the top right of the page. If you do not have a Stripe account you MUST complete the whole form and click on submit. Once you Login or complete the form successfully and submit, your Stripe account will be connected to MyHopelandFund. Make sure to store your email and password. We do not control Stripe. (Stripe is a payment gateway just like PayPal). After you successfully connect your Stripe account Logout.

-     N.B: You will have to provide your Bank information when creating the Stripe Account. The purpose of this is so that donations paid into your Stripe Account will be transferred automatically into your Bank account. We do not control Stripe. Stripe is a Payment gateway just like PayPal.


(#1) You can now create a fundraising campaign for your charity.

-     If this is your first time to create a campaign for this charity, go to the Homepage and on the top right where you have Register click on it. (If you have created a campaign for this charity before just Login using your email and password and click on Create a Campaign and follow as prompted).

-     It takes you to the next page where you can Enter Your Goals and the default is Personal change it to Charity Campaign. For Select Charity choose your Charity from the Drop Down. After that, enter the title for the campaign and make it short and click on Next.

-     It takes you to the next page where you must select a type of currency. Also enter the amount of money that you want to raise in this campaign. Make sure NOT to include the currency symbol like ($, €, £ etc) No commas between the figures. Example:  2500 Enter your Zip Code / Postal Code and click on Next.

-      N.B. Anyone can start a fundraising campaign for your Charity by following the process shown above after (#1). The funds donated will go directly to the Stripe account that you connected here. The funds will not go to the person creating the campaign. It does not matter how many campaigns are created. This is the best way for many people to raise funds for a single Charity while the donations go into one account controlled by the person(s) who REGISTERED the charity on the Website.

 

Major Help: Like Hurricane, Storm etc.

-         You will do everything just like you are creating a Personal Campaign shown above. The only difference is that when you go to Enter Your Goal you will select MAJOR HELP instead of Personal. Every other thing stays just as shown above under Personal Campaigns.
